3rd Simara Gold Cup: Sahara Club Stuns Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club To Enter Final

Sahara Club  stunned defending Champions, Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club 1-0 to enter the final in the on-going 3rd Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament played at Simara on Wednesday.


Buddha Lama scored the match winning goal in the 9th minute for Sahara Club. The Pokhara based Club created the history by entering the final in major tournament in Nepal for the first time.

The defending Champions, Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club, despite dominating throughout the match, couldn't utilize the goal scoring chances while the defense line of Sahara Club was rock solid that actually helped them to win the match.

Sahara Club took the playful lead in the early 9th minute through Buddha Lama. It was a crowded YHSC D-box when Buddha Lama found the header that trampled the Mountaineers' goalie.

After conceding the early goal, Mountaineers looked like wounded tiger and created as many as half dozen goal scoring chances. But all of them were blunt.

Sahara Club played solid defensive game in the second half and foiled every Mountaineers' attack to win the match.
